Current Research Project:

Learning About Nevada Teen’s Social Media Experience

Overview:

We're conducting a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of teens in Nevada to understand how using or restricting social media impacts wellness. Participants will spend approximately 3 weeks sharing their daily insights and reactions with researchers and will earn money for each day of participation.

Why It Matters:

Most research on social media has been done with adults. This is one of the first large studies to examine immediate effects in teens, a group that uses social media the most. We need to learn from you to understand the teenage social media experience!

Who Can Join?

We’re looking for youth who:

  • Are 10 to 18 years old

  • Are active users of Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, or TikTok

  • Live in Nevada

  • Have their own smartphone (not shared)

  • Speak English or Spanish

  • Have a parent or guardian who can give consent

We’re currently recruiting adolescents to join our study! If you live in Nevada, are in middle or high school, have your own smartphone, and use any of the four social media platforms mentioned above, you’re welcome to join!
